There are people in Florida and all across the country who do not approve of pornographic or sexually explicit materials. But even though it might be considered inappropriate or lewd, pornographic material is not illegal. The creation or distribution of the material is also not illegal in many circumstances.
However, the story changes dramatically if pornographic videos or photos involve minors. One young woman in Florida is learning that very harsh lesson after she was arrested for a number of charges stemming from a pornographic video she made with five other people.
The woman who was charged refers to herself as a “porn diva” on the rise. She is certainly not the only person who plans to make a career for herself in the adult entertainment business. However, her road to stardom took a serious detour after she crossed the line by including three underage females in a pornographic video.
The woman is 19 years old and is accused of making and posting a video online of her engaging in sexual activities with two men and three teenage girls who were 12, 13 and 14 years old.
Authorities tracked down the woman after the video was made public and arrested her. She has been charged with promoting sexual performance of a minor and lewd and lascivious battery on a minor. The two males involved were also arrested.
Charges that involve child pornography or other types of sexual misconduct involving a minor should be taken very seriously by any person who is in a similar situation. A conviction can result in prison time, the requirement to register as a sex offender and permanent damage to a person’s family, career and reputation. It can be crucial to consult a criminal defense attorney so that a person can understand his or her rights and legal options.
