Man being brought to Florida from Ireland after DUI accident

by | Jan 24, 2019 | Drunk Driving Charges |

A man was involved in an alleged drunk driving accident in Florida. He was 23 years old and he had a 22-year-old woman in the car with him. The Maserati went out of control, hitting a pole and a fence and then rolling after leaving the road.

The man lived through the accident, but his passenger did not.

The police investigated the accident, and they say that he had been drinking. They claim that his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was more than double the .08 limit to drive in the state. They also said that the car was going around 140 mph when he lost control. At the moment that it slammed into the power pole, the investigation determined that it was going around 127 mph. That’s after leaving the road.

In any case, the man left the United States after the crash and went to Ireland. Last year, the government asked Irish authorities to send him back to Florida to face charges. They have recently agreed to do so.

However, that does not mean he’ll be back in Florida any time soon. Some experts have noted that it may take up to a year before he returns, though it could just be six months. Either way, this is a long and complicated process.

When dealing with complex issues like this, it is very important for people to fully understand all of the legal options that they have. The ramifications are such that you must carefully consider what impact your actions could have on your future.
